Rebecca Simic

24% of children in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana's program have one or more members in their family in jail, prison, out on parole, or on probation. This is three times higher than the national average. 1

In 2002, Rebecca Simic had no idea her family would join the percentage of youth who have a family member in jail/prison. This week, Rebecca's story aired live nationally on ABC and locally on WHAS. Content Warning: Linked videos contain material not suitable for all audiences.

While Rebecca and her children's story is traumatic, it doesn't define them. And when Rebecca was searching for an organization that would show up for families like hers, no matter the circumstance, she found Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana.

Rebecca and her family have become champions of the work we do to support and ignite the potential of youth throughout our community. You can become a champion too by donating today!
