Trunk or Treat! Here’s where you can find family-friendly Halloween events around Louisville and SoIN

Spooky season has arrived, which means it's time for trunk-or-treating.

Numerous businesses and organizations across Kentuckiana are hosting truck-or-treating events, an alternative to traditional trick-or-treating, where kids can go from decorated car to car in a central location to collect their sweet treats.

Here is a list of trunk-or-treat events in Louisville, in date order, this October.

Hardin County EMS Trunk or Treat

WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 11, 4-7 p.m.
WHAT: Bounce houses, food trucks, community resources, games, candy for the kids and more! Parking will be located behind the government building.
WHERE: 170 N. Provident Way, Elizabethtown KY 42701

3rd Annual Texas Roadhouse Trunk-or-Treat

WHEN: Tuesday, Oct. 14, 5-8 p.m.
WHAT: Decorate your trunk, come dressed in your favorite costume, play games, and get some sweet goodies. And, of course, enjoy dinner at Texas Roadhouse.

Sauerbeck Family Drive-In Trunk-or-Treat

WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 18 and 25. Trunk-or-Treating (6-7 p.m.), movie (7:30 p.m.)
WHAT: Trunk-or-Treating and a movie, with "Casper" on Oct. 18 and "Hotel Transylvania" on Oct. 25. Tickets are $28 per car.

St. Matthews Baptist Church Trunk-or-Treat

WHEN: Sunday, Oct. 19, 2-4 p.m.
WHAT: Kids of all ages (and even pets) are encouraged to wear their non-scary Halloween costumes. Enjoy games and go trick-or-treating at creatively decorated car trunks offering allergy-friendly candy, toys, and pet treats.

3rd Annual Floyd County Halloween in the Park

WHEN: Sunday, Oct. 19, 3-6 p.m.
WHAT: Trunk-or-treating, pumpkin decorating, face painting, inflatables, yard games and more. Presented by Floyd County Parks and Recreation and the Floyd County Sheriff's Office.
WHERE: Sam Peden Community Park, 3037 Grant Line Road, New Albany IN 47150 (in the back of the park, near Shelter House #4)

Smoketown Trunk or Treat

WHEN: Thursday, Oct. 23, 6-8 p.m.
WHAT: Games, trick or treating and more hosted by Sigma Gamma Rho and the Smoketown Family Wellness Center.

Trunk-and-Treat & Car Show

WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 25, 4-8 p.m.
WHAT: Decorate your car trunks and pass out candy to children. Also, a car show, trophies, music, and food available for purchase. Presented by Cruzin' For Cancer. $20 entry for car show.

Okolona Christian Church Trunk-or-Treat Open Car Show

WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 25, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration for car show, 9-11 a.m.
WHAT
: Trunk-or-treating, children activities, costume contest with prizes (adult and children) and car show. Proceeds will benefit special needs students at Pitt Academy.

6th Annual Creepin' & Jeepin'

WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 25, 2 p.m.
WHAT: Trunk-or-treat, jeep decorating contest and children activities. Presented by Louisville VooDoo Jeep Club.

Trunk & Treat at Stomping Grounds Coffee Co.

WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 25, 6-8 p.m.
WHAT: Come out for a spooky-good night of candy, costumes, music by Lame and coffee and drinks from Stomping Grounds Coffee Company, Presented by by Valley Station Chamber of Commerce and Stomping Grounds Coffee Company. Registration is requested.

Trunk-or-Treat at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 25, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
WHAT
: Trunk-or-Treat with a Hogwarts twist. Dress as your favorite witch, wizard, or magical creature. Keep in mind that full-face masks are not allowed. Also, chili cook-off, costume contest, games and activities for all ages and Butterbeer (non-alcoholic) and other treats from the Three Broomsticks. Registration is requested.

Trick or Treat at the Track

WHEN: Sunday, Oct. 26, gates open at noon
WHAT: Bring the whole family for a fun-filled day under the iconic Twin Spires, featuring over 15 kid-friendly stations, including candy stops so your little ones can trick-or-treat along the way, exciting racing action, festive activities for children under 12, and games, crafts, and surprises that will make this a Halloween to remember! Children may attend for free with paying adult (who is at least 18 years old with a valid ID).
Limit 2 children per paying adult. Additional children will require the purchase of a full price general admission ticket.

WHEN: Sunday, Oct. 26, 2-4 p.m.
WHAT: Trunk-or-treating, prizes and activities. Registration is requested.

5th Annual Derby City Pizza Company Trunk-or-Treat

WHEN: Monday, Oct. 27, 5-7 p.m.
WHAT: Trunk-or-treating, vendors, cake ball draw, tons of candy and more. Proceeds to benefit proceeds benefit FEAT of Louisville.

Big Four Boo Fest

WHEN: Monday, Oct. 27, 5:30-8 p.m.
WHAT: Jeffersonville Parks Department is hosting its annual community Halloween event! Families are invited to enjoy trick-or-treating within the park from 5:30 pm to 8 pm. with games, inflatables, music, food trucks, and more. Don't forget to bring your basket or a bag!
